The ‘Fiddlers Green’ restaurant in Portaferry, has ONE of the 10 doors created from trees on the Dark Hedges, which blew over in Storm Gertrude.
The ferry across from Portaferry, is an interesting and much shorter way to get to the village of Strangford at the mouth of Strangford Lough.
Castle Ward was one of the main filming locations for the HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’. Set deep in the N.Irish countryside this beautiful estate was the main location for ‘Winterfell’, see the tower where ‘Bran Stark’ was pushed from, were ‘Ned Stark’ greeted ‘King Robert’ on his arrival from ‘Kings Landing’. These are only some of the locations within Castle Ward estate to be seen and enjoyed, there are many more.
The ‘Cuan’ restaurant in Strangford has ONE of the 10 doors created from trees on the Dark Hedges, which blew over in Storm Gertrude.
Inch Abbey is another filming location used and the first main scene shot here was of Rob Stark’s camp which was located here in season one. It is where after the Battle of Whispering Wood that he was proclaimed the King of the North.
Percy French’ restaurant in Newcastle has ONE of the 10 doors created from trees on the Dark Hedges, which blew over in Storm Gertrude.
The Barbican Gate was used in the Game of Thrones series.
Although it wasn’t used in the Game of Thrones, it was in the 2014 movie ‘Dracula Untold’, and apart from that, the view out over Strangford Lough towards Newcastle, the Mourne Mountains, even the Isle of Man on a clear day is simply stunning and not to be missed.
We can collect and drop off clients at location they choose, be that, Cruise Ship Terminal , Airport, (all Ireland) or any hotel they care to stay in, (surcharge applies if outside Belfast city centre)
